The ideal perimeter protection solution for airport perimeters is a fiber optic detection system mounted on the fence that connects back to the main security center and ideally connects to CCTV cameras to provide visual confirmation to staff.
Fiber optic cables are designed to detect and pinpoint the location of intrusions anywhere on the airport perimeter fence, providing real-time reports of intrusions. The technology can be integrated with existing security systems, such as access control and CCTV, to centralize security monitoring throughout the facility.
Importantly, newer fiber optic technologies can operate in all weather conditions with no change in sensitivity and virtually no annoying alarms. In addition, they require no on-site electronics, power or infrastructure, just fiber optics. Installation is simple, economical and requires no on-site maintenance.
