RB006 is the compact and high-performance Gigabit Ethernet to STM-4 converter with VLAN TAG function, which provides three gigabit Ethernet interfaces (2 electrical and 1 optical Ethernet interfaces) and 2 STM-4 interfaces. By adopting ITU-T G.7041 and G.7042-compliant EoSDH (Ethernet over SDH) technology, RB006 provides one VCG whose bandwidth can be flexibly configured from 1~8 VC4.

Product Description

Overview

The RB006 is a compact and high-performance Gigabit Ethernet to STM-4 converter featuring VLAN TAG functionality. It offers three gigabit Ethernet interfaces, including two electrical and one optical Ethernet interface, along with two STM-4 interfaces. Utilizing ITU-T G.7041 and G.7042-compliant EoSDH (Ethernet over SDH) technology, the RB006 provides a Virtual Concatenation Group (VCG) with flexible bandwidth configuration ranging from 1 to 8 VC4. In 2+0 mode, where the two STM-4 interfaces are independent, the 3 Ethernet interfaces collectively share a bandwidth of up to 1112Mb/s (8 VC4).

With its emphasis on low power consumption, high integration, and overall stability, the RB006 is designed for point-to-point applications. It presents a cost-competitive solution suitable for various scenarios, including network access, transparent LAN service, and LAN extension.

Optical Interface:

Two STM-4 optical interfaces utilizing LC type SFP modules, supporting hot-plugging.
Line bit rate of 622Mb/s with optional transmission distances based on the SFP optical module.
Compliant with SFP MSA (INF-8074i), ITU-T G.695, and FC-PI V2.0 standards.
Supports Automatic Laser Shutdown (ALS) for operator safety.
Features Remote Power down Detect (RPD) function.

Ethernet Interface:

One optical Gigabit Ethernet interface and two electrical Gigabit Ethernet interfaces following IEEE802.3 standards.
Electrical gigabit Ethernet interfaces use RJ45 connectors, supporting auto-negotiation for various modes.
Optical gigabit Ethernet interface uses 1.25G SFP module, with optional transmission distances based on the SFP optical module.
Proprietary technique to prevent Ethernet frames from looping back in case of unexpected transmission line loopback.
Supports unicast, multicast, and broadcast frames, as well as flow control and broadcast storm filtering control.
4K MAC address table with configurable ageing time.
Supports VLAN configurations, port rate control, and provides performance statistics for each Ethernet interface.

Timing Mode:

Supports tracing from internal timing source or STM-4 optical line timing source.
Timing sources can be switched based on alarms, SSM values, frequency offset, or preset priority.

Path Protection:

Supports 1+1 path protection with a recovering time less than 50ms.
1+1 linear unidirectional/bidirectional Multiplex Section Protection (MSP).
Supports automatic and manual protection switch.

Virtual Concatenation:

Supports 1~8 VC4 virtual concatenation with a maximum tolerated differential delay of 252ms.
Provides LCAS and Non-LCAS modes, compliant with ITU-T standards (G.7041, G.7042).

NE Management:

Serial management interface (CONSOLE) and Ethernet management interface (EMU) for CLI management.
Supports RAYVIEW network management platform using SNMP_V1 and SNMP_V2 protocols.
Allows local and remote firmware online updates without disturbing existing traffic.
Monitors alarms and status in real-time.

Redundant Power Supply:

Supports -48V DC or 220V AC power access, with options for single or double power access.
Power consumption is less than 10W.

Application

    RB006 supports point-to-point application, supports embedded DCN channel for local and remote management. As Figure 3-1 shows, both the remote management and Ethernet data are transmitted to local side over SDH network, by VLAN classifying, all the management information can be controlled by the NMS of local center. Note: each NE needs one IP.
